Al Quran Surah Al Israa verse 23 - 28

by Ustadz Rakim Aminudin
And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them but address them in terms of honour.

And lower unto them the wing of submission and humility through mercy, and say: "My Lord! Bestow on them Your Mercy as they did bring me up when I was a child

Your Lord knows best what is in your inner-selves. If you are righteous, then, verily, He is Ever Most Forgiving to those who turn unto Him again and again in obedience, and in repentance.

And give to the kinsman his due and to the Miskîn {1} (poor) and to the wayfarer. But spend not wastefully (your wealth) in the manner of a spendthrift. {2} (Tafsir At-Tabarî)
{1} (V.17:26) See the footnote of (V.2:83).

{2} (V.17:26) You have to follow a middle course in your spendings - neither a miser nor a spendthrift, and not to be like those who spend in the disobedience of Allâh and His Messenger

Verily, the spendthrifts are brothers of the Shayâtîn (devils), and the Shaitân (Devil-Satan) is ever ungrateful to his Lord.

And if you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) turn away from them (kindred, poor, wayfarer whom We have ordered you to give their rights, but if you have no money at the time they ask you for it) and you are awaiting a mercy from your Lord for which you hope, then, speak unto them a soft kind word (i.e. Allâh will give me and I shall give you).

Al Quran surah Shof verse 10 - 13
O you who believe! Shall I guide you to a trade that will save you from a painful torment?

That you believe in Allâh and His Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) and that you strive hard and fight in the Cause of Allâh with your wealth and your lives: that will be better for you, if you but know!

(If you do so) He will forgive you your sins, and admit you into Gardens under which rivers flow, and pleasant dwellings in ‘Adn (Eden) Paradise; that is indeed the great success.

And also (He will give you) another (blessing) which you love, - help from Allâh (against your enemies) and a near victory. And give glad tidings (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) to the believers.

  1. The mutual rivalry (for piling up of worldly things) diverts you,
  2. Until you visit the graves (i.e. till you die).
  3. Nay! You shall come to know!
  4. Again nay! You shall come to know!
  5. Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have been occupied yourselves in worldly things).
  6. Verily, You shall see the blazing Fire (Hell)!
  7. And again, you shall see it with certainty of sight!
  8. Then on that Day you shall be asked about the delights {1} (you indulged in, in this world)!
Once during a day or a night Allâh’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم came out and found Abu Bakr and ‘Umar رضي الله عنهما: he said: "What has brought you out of your homes at this hour?" They replied: "Hunger, O Allâh’s Messenger." He said: "By Him (Allâh) in Whose Hand my soul is, I too have come out for the same reason for which you have come out". Then he صلى الله عليه وسلم said to them (both): "Come along! "And he went along with them to a man from the Ansâr but they did not find him in his house. The wife of that man saw the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and said: "You are welcome." Allâh’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم asked her (saying): "Where is so-and-so?" She replied: "He has gone to fetch some water for us." In the mean time the Ansarî man came, saw Allâh’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم with his two Companions and said: "All the praise and thanks be to Allâh: today there is none superior to me as regards guests." Then he went and brought a part of a bunch of date-fruit, having dates, some still green, some ripe and some fully ripe and requested them to eat from it. He then took his knife (to slaughter for them a sheep). Allâh’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said to him: "Beware! Do not slaughter a milch sheep". So he slaughtered a sheep (prepared the meals from its meat). They ate from that sheep and that bunch of dates and drank water. After they had finished eating and drinking to their fill, Allâh’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said to Abu Bakr and ‘Umar رضي الله عنهما : "By Him in Whose Hand my soul is, you will be asked about this treat on the Day of Resurrection. He (Allâh) brought you out of your homes with hunger and you are not returning to your homes till you have been blessed with this treat." However, health for people who fear to Allah is better than wealth and that includes the enjoyment.

I came to the Prophet Muhammad and he sat in the shade of the Kaaba. When the Prophet saw me, he said. "They were the people who lost for the sake of his Lord Kaaba. Abu Dhar said, "So I came and I sat so I have not settled for the stand I asked," O Messenger of Allah honored you are my father and my mother, who are they? The Prophet replied, "Those are the ones who reproduce the property except for those who do such and such and such - from the front and from behind and from the right and the left - what a little they are the people who do not have no cows and no camels and not goat he did not give zakah except to come in hereafter bigger what is there (animals) and more fat (anything) on the person's butt with his horns and trample on their feet when the owner has run out (over all animals) The first animals re-start again until the man is being punished.
